Barndominium Floor Plans Under 2,000 Sq Ft
Small barndominiums commonly run 600–1,200 sq ft as a starter home, guest house, or accessory dwelling, and up to 2,000 sq ft for a full family layout. A compact footprint lowers material cost and shortens every plumbing, HVAC, and electrical run.

Decisions that make or break this plan
Open the plan
Removing interior walls between kitchen, dining, and living is the cheapest way to make a small plan feel larger.
Use ceiling height
Post-frame walls make tall ceilings inexpensive. A loft can add sleeping space without adding slab.
Don't skip storage
Small plans fail on storage. Draw in closets and a mudroom before furniture.
Where to get a plan drawn
IronField doesn't draw plans. They come from your kit supplier, a local draftsperson, your builder, or a plan provider.

Questions
Is a small barndominium cheaper per square foot?
Total cost is lower, but per-square-foot cost is often higher because kitchens, baths, and mechanical systems are a fixed cost spread over fewer feet.
